In A Nutshell…
Tell me your story and I’ll pitch it into production. Need the latest on sports news and fashion? I’m ready to report. Trust me with your aging parents, and they’ll be smiling in no time. I am Coreena and this is my life. 
My life’s work is a unique mix of storytelling, sports and senior’s care. What can I say? I’m more than the girl next door.
Here’s the backdrop to my story. Cue the lights.
I love sports, I love seniors and I always have. I was also born to a family who spent over 60 years dedicated to Senior’s Care, and who built Richmond, British Columbia’s first ever senior’s home: Fraserview Care Lodge. The stories of my family and the hundreds of residents that I have met over the years that I worked there, inspired my love for storytelling.
As early as I can remember, I had a camera in hand, a production in the works, or a microphone in the mix.
The people I meet everyday, people just like you, are the fuel to the fire that burns within me.
It’s why I have committed over 20 years to helping those afflicted with memory challenges in intermediate care, and have developed over 60 hands-on programs and special events to promote overall well-being for seniors in care. Today, I’m proud to have turned my commitment to person-centred care into an intellectually stimulating (and fun) tool used to engage memory-challenged seniors. It’s called Boomerang Life, and it launched last year.
When it comes to sports, I’ve played them, I’ve coached them and I’ve reported on them.
I completed my degree in Human Kinetics (the Sports Administration Stream) at the University of British Columbia, an Exercise Science Diploma, Yoga Teacher’s Training and a Broadcast Arts diploma in Public and Media Relations.
I’m the proud finisher of a half marathon, a world class baton twirler who represented Canada at the World Championships and earned a silver medal in the team division in Torino, Italy. I have choreographed and coached for Olympic Gold Medalist Lori Fung and toured with Lori and her club in Asia on a sport demonstration tour.
I guess that by now, it’s no surprise why or how I chose to produce and host with over 10 national broadcasters, and why I worked behind the scenes on documentaries such as ‘The Journey” – Canadians in the NBA and the Season Pass Series. This documentary included ‘The Real Life Jerry McGuire’s’, The Grey Cup, Molson Indy, L.A. Lakers and Anaheim Angels.
Today, I’m directing my creative energy into ‘Life Inside’ a documentary on the challenges people face when considering a care home for their loved one.
