Here’s a look at the pilot for Inside an Athlete’s Head. Entering into it’s second season on CBC, season one featured four Canadian Olympians including Kalie Humphries. Season two’s with episodes includes professional athletes – Demar De Rozen (NBA), Nazem Kadri (NHL) and Nathan Shepard (NFL). A sneak peak at season two can be seen here. The starting point of this series started with this pilot that creatively delivered the concept behind the series. This in-depth look inside the mind of high level athletes, from their voice is compelling and uniquely different in it’s story-telling format.
Former professional athlete and actor, Shane Nicely delivered the intimacy and the connection this series is built upon. Pulling on his experience as an athlete, he delivered a strong story, with the authenticity that has the power to reach people at a deeper level.
In setting the tone for the series, athletes from Season one where shown the pilot to help form their understanding of the series and to gauge if they felt they could be open, authentic and revealing of their inner most thoughts.
